A New Chapter: You Can Now Read A. Craine on Royal Road

When Palmista Press and I first discussed publishing on Royal Road, it wasn't because my books needed proofreaders.

Palmista Press already has an excellent proofreading and editorial process before every novel is published. That part of the workflow is already well covered.

Instead, we asked a different question.

What if readers could become part of the creative journey before a book is officially released?

That simple question has now become part of my writing workflow.

A New Writing Workflow

From now on, whenever a new A. Craine novel reaches the Palmista Press production stage and goes out to the publisher's proof readers, it will also be released chapter by chapter on Royal Road.

This isn't an early draft.

It isn't an unfinished manuscript.

It's the version that has reached the point where I'm happy to let readers experience the story while the publisher completes the final publishing process.

That means Royal Road readers get to experience each new adventure before the Kindle edition is released.

Why Royal Road?

Community.

Discussion.

Feedback.

And yes...

Reviews.

One of the greatest advantages of serial publishing is hearing what readers think while the excitement is still fresh.

Which characters are your favourites?

Which mysteries keep you turning the page?

Which demons fascinate you the most?

Which theories have you come up with?

Sometimes readers notice connections I never expected. Sometimes they ask questions that inspire entirely new ideas for future books. Sometimes they simply remind me which parts of the world resonate the most.

That kind of engagement is invaluable.

It helps me build bigger worlds and write stories that readers genuinely want to spend more time in.
